In the heart of the downtown Cultural District of Bloomington, Illinois at 209 East Washington Street.
All Parking is FREE. There is a parking lot directly across from The Castle, generously provided by PNC Bank. On busy nights, that lot tends to fill up quickly. Additional lots can be found 1 block North and 1 block East of our front door. Please see our parking map below.
If you park in a lot that is NOT designated as Castle Parking on the map, your vehicle may be subject to tow.
Tickets can be purchased in advance three ways:
1. Online, here on our website, thecastletheatre.com
2. In person at The Castle Box Office. Our box office is open Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on non-show days. We accept Cash, VISA, Master Card, American Express and Discover. Our box office is the ONLY in-person retail outlet you can purchase a paper ticket.
Tickets can be purchased on the day of the show in person at our box office or online through our website. Tickets will still be available at the door as long as the show is not sold out.
● If you are having issues purchasing your tickets, please contact us via email at info@thecastletheatre.com or via phone at (309) 820-0352
PLEASE NOTE
The Castle Theatre is not responsible for tickets purchased from any third-party ticketing site and cannot guarantee the validity of any third-party site tickets. Only tickets sold through Opendate via thecastletheatre.com are guaranteed entry.
All sales are final. No refunds or exchanges unless a show is cancelled. Lineups are always subject to change. No refunds will be given if a support artist changes.
If a show is listed as “SOLD OUT” on our website, there are no more tickets available and we will not be releasing any tickets.
You can now reserve seats through our website when purchasing your tickets to a show! This guarantees you a seat for the duration of the performance. The purchase of a seat is an “Add-On” and DOES NOT include entry to the show. You must also purchase a General Admission ticket in order to gain admittance into the venue.
If you decide on the day of the show that you would like to upgrade to a reserved seat, please visit our box office to choose your spot. We have limited seating available. We cannot guarantee that there will be seats left to choose from if you do not reserve your seats in advance.
Unless a show is advertised as “SEATED” or “LIMITED SEATING”, our shows are General Admission and standing-room only.
Patrons who need accommodations can call us at (309) 820-0352 prior to a show to make arrangements.
Both the box office and bars accept Cash, VISA, Master Card, American Express and Discover. Artists selling merchandise typically accept cash and cards as well. There is an ATM located inside of the venue if cash is needed.
In compliance with Illinois laws, anyone 21 and older who plans on drinking alcohol will have to show a valid, non-expired, government issued photo ID, no matter how old you think you may look. An ID is always required if you plan on drinking alcohol. Because we occasionally host All Ages shows, we take checking ID’s very seriously.
● Acceptable forms of ID include: state issued drivers license or state ID, Military ID, or passport.
● The Castle does NOT accept vertical IDs (even if you are 21), temporary paper IDs without the expired hole-punched ID, pictures of IDs, FOID cards, University IDs, or any other form of identification that is not regulated by law.
Anyone without proper ID, regardless of age, will be treated as under 21 and not allowed to buy, hold or drink alcohol. This policy is strictly enforced and any violation will result in immediate ejection from the Theatre.
Unless otherwise noted in the event description, our shows are 18+ unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Occasionally, some shows are All Ages or 21+.
We’ve put a lot of care and thought into our All Ages shows. The decision to let your child come to a show here is obviously up to you as a parent. We suggest attending a show with your child so you can get a first-hand experience of how we run the theatre and treat our patrons. We’re confident that once you’ve been here you’ll feel comfortable about allowing your child to come to The Castle.
Our safety precautions/ security procedures are as follows:
● Prior to entering the venue, guests will be searched (wanded or patted down) to ensure the safety of all patrons. You will be asked to empty your pockets of all items so that they can be examined.
● All bags are subject to search. No large bags or backpacks (over 12”x12”) will be allowed inside the venue.
● No guns, knives (including pocket knives), pepper spray, or weapons of any kind are allowed into the venue.
● Replicas of weapons also are NOT permitted.
● No drugs, drug paraphernalia, or illegal substances of any kind are permitted in the venue.
● The use or possession of any illegal drugs will not be tolerated anywhere inside or outside the venue. Do not bring any illegal substances to the event as violators will be subject to law enforcement. If you are found to be inebriated at the door, security may refuse your entry into the venue. Event staff reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone for any reason. ● All alcohol and narcotic laws will be strictly enforced.
● Hoops, poi, helium balloons, staffs, juggling balls, fans, whips or other flow props are prohibited inside the venue.
● Outside food or drinks are NOT allowed inside the venue.
● Video cameras, GoPros, or selfie sticks are NOT allowed.
● Professional recording equipment – photo, video or audio (no detachable lenses, tripods, big zooms or commercial use rigs) are NOT permitted unless cleared by the artist’s PR team prior to the show.
● We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone for any reason. If you see something that concerns you, please let someone from our management team or security staff know so we can ensure the best experience possible.
The Castle has a strict no re-entry policy. You will not be permitted to come back into the venue once you have exited the building.
We only insist that you be dressed and wearing shoes. Sensible footwear is strongly advised.
Smoking or vaping inside of the venue is strictly prohibited. Illinois has an indoor smoking ban. We have a designated, gated area for smokers outside, in front of the building.
We like to think that there are no bad sight lines at The Castle, but if you’re one of those folks who needs to be right up front, we suggest you be in line before doors open. Keep in mind that no matter how early you line up there may already be people ahead of you in line and you are not guaranteed any particular spots inside. The only way to guarantee your spot in the venue is to reserve a seat ahead of time through our website when you purchase your tickets.
Door times and Show Start times are listed on our website, on each event page in the description. Set times vary and typically are not announced. Generally, opening acts will begin 1 hour after doors open. Please keep in mind that set times, as well as opening acts, are always subject to change without notice.
We have 3 full bars located within the Theatre offering a terrific selection of beer, wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages. We do NOT serve snacks or food. Outside food or drink is NOT permitted and will be confiscated by security upon entry into the venue.
There are plenty of excellent local restaurants within walking distance of The Castle! Please enjoy a meal or snack before heading over to the venue for a show.
