Kyle Yap Band
Kyle Yap is a 27 year old musician and entertainer from Bloomington, IL.  Over the past 10 years he has performed over 2000 times with Shade Tree, Dan Hubbard and the Humadors, and Stereo Dreams. Currently Kyle owns and operates Bloomington Rock School. Recently Kyle has come into his own as an acoustic performer playing many shows throughout the Midwest with a variety of original music and various covers from a vast collection of artists and time periods. Always the enthusiast for leaving Illinois in search of performing for new people in new venues, he's played all over the country throughout the Midwest and the South, and has even played shows in the Philippines. His original music is a combination of his musical influences along with experiences in his own life.

JammSammich Plays 100% Party Music

We have always been careful to not refer to ourselves as the "best" band in our neck of the woods. We are confident that we are surrounded (and inspired) by far-superior musicians. Many of them are our friends. You can link to many of them from this website.
However, there is something about the combination--the mindset--of the members of JammSammich that makes the band special. We are committed to the eternally packed dancefloor and to the ultimate good time. Our songlist is tailored to guarantee an "I-can't-believe-they-played-that-song" reaction every time and is scientifically proven to cause uncontrollable shaking of the booty. 8 years strong, JammSammich is enjoying what seems to be an ever-peaking run in the crowded Central Illinois music scene. It should come to no surprise that the readers of the River City Times voted JammSammich "Peoria's favorite band" in 2004, 2005, 2006 and that the band continues to enjoy record crowds at Central Illinois' most renowned venues and headlining slots at prestigious festivals and events. The formula of groove-driven funk and R&B, retro 80's tunes, island jams, and liberal doses of comedy has proven to be one of the most potent in the last decade and, in the spirit of flattery, has become an imitated commodity.

JammSammich's dedication to pleasing audiences and running a consistent, professional, reliable business has led to partnerships with Independence Media Group, Budweiser True Music and Brewer's Distributing. The band prides itself on the level that it operates from the business side of the transaction, contracting the finest sound and lighting and going above and beyond to promote each event and venue. Sammich strongly believes in building up the business of each location we perform--whether we're playing or not--to ensure return business and prolonged success. By way of a popular, high-traffic website (with weekly updates, gig photos and media clips), a popular MySpace site, and a 1000+ mailing list, JammSammich makes it easy for regulars and newcomers to find the band and venues whenever it's time to party.

The versatile Sammich songlist means that the band is perfect for EVERY event, whether it be a dance, wedding reception, private party, club date, festival, etc. With tunes from 4 decades, including Motown, disco, funk, hip-hop, retro 80's, Buffett, and rock, Sammich is the TRUE variety band--there REALLY is something for everyone.

Don't take our word for it. Ask any one of the pleased clients of the band, any member of our rabid following of SammichHeads, or anyone who's caught the band in the last several years.

Avoid the risk. Go with something proven. Guaranteed party. Every time.
It's science, Holmes.
